The development of digital technology has brought significant changes to the learning system; however, students' ability to adapt is uneven. This study examines the digital literacy gap among students and its impact on the quality of the teaching and learning process. The gap is not only related to access to devices and internet connectivity but also to the ability to understand, manage, and critically use digital information. This situation poses a major challenge for educators in designing an inclusive and humanistic learning strategy that emphasizes human values, empathy, and social relevance for students. Using a qualitative-descriptive approach through literature review and limited interviews, the study’s findings indicate that without efforts to equalize digital literacy, learning outcome disparities will widen. Therefore, educational institutions must focus not only on providing technology but also on sustainably and meaningfully developing students’ digital competencies.
