The study focuses on the application of a contextual approach in reading instruction, the role of teachers in designing, implementing, and evaluating instruction, students' learning experiences, supporting and inhibiting factors, and its impact on students' interest, engagement, and reading comprehension. This study used a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were obtained through observations of the learning process, in-depth interviews with teachers and students, and documentation studies of learning materials and the madrasah literacy program. Data analysis was conducted using an interactive model that included data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that the contextual approach was implemented through the selection of reading materials relevant to students' lives, linking text content to real life experiences, collaborative learning, utilizing the madrasah environment as a learning resource, and integrating Islamic values. Teachers acted as learning designers, facilitators, and reflective evaluators to ensure meaningful learning. Students experienced a positive learning experience, characterized by increased reading interest, active engagement, and reading comprehension. Supporting factors include teacher competence, student motivation, a literate environment, and family support, while limited resources and differences in student abilities pose obstacles. This study is a literature study with a literature review that describes the principles of learning with the Understanding by Design (UbD) approach. This study uses various documentary sources such as journals, articles, books, and documents related to this study. This literature study focuses on the Understanding by Design (UbD) approach in elementary schools. The results of the study indicate that learning with the UbD approach can be implemented well in accordance with school conditions. Student understanding is one of the focuses of success that is desired to be achieved in learning. Aspects that must be mastered by students such as the ability to explain, the ability to interpret, the ability to apply, the ability to have perspective, the ability to empathize, and the ability to have self-knowledge. This is certainly inseparable from the role of the teacher as a learning designer, where the teacher must analyze learning achievements and determine ideas, goals to be achieved and evaluations that will be given to students. One of the efforts to achieve this is through routine religious activities, such as the performance of the Dhuha prayer. As a sunnah prayer, Dhuha carries educational values that can foster attitudes of discipline, responsibility, and orderliness in daily life. The aim of this study is to determine the extent of the influence that performing the Dhuha prayer has on the discipline of fifth-grade students at MI Islamiyah Pulak Segeran. The study investigates several issues in the implementation of the Dhuha prayer, noting that some students are diligent in performing the prayer while others are less consistent. Therefore, the research questions are: How is the Dhuha prayer practiced? What is the level of student discipline? And, what is the influence of the Dhuha prayer on student discipline in class V at MI Islamiyah Pulak Segeran? This study is grounded in the objective of identifying the significance of the Dhuha prayer practice in shaping student discipline. This research employs a quantitative method using simple linear regression analysis. The population consists of all fifth-grade students at MI Islamiyah Pulak Segeran, with a sample of 46 students. The instrument used was a questionnaire to measure both the frequency of Dhuha prayer performance and the level of student discipline. Data were analyzed using SPSS software. The findings revealed a significance value of 0.001 &lt; 0.05 and a coefficient of determination (R Square) of 0.208. This indicates that 20.8% of the variation in student discipline can be explained by the habit of performing the Dhuha prayer, while the remaining percentage is influenced by other factors. Thus, it can be concluded that the habit of performing the Dhuha prayer contributes to improving student discipline. Moreover, the implementation is regularly supervised by teachers, although it is not the sole determining factor. Based on the results, there is a positive influence of Dhuha prayer on the discipline of fifth-grade students at MI Islamiyah Pulak Segeran. Hence, the hypothesis is proven.
